John had to force me to go back to Salzburg because my first impression was terrible. However our second day was wonderful as we arrived on day the vintage cars to be racing in a couple of days were on display for the public. We got there just as the people were lining the streets for the cars to roar by on their way to the plaza. Then we strolled with the throngs to take a look. Funny to hear Beach Boys music playing over the loudspeakers. Wandered into a rather quiet plaza and choose someplace to eat because of a great street quartet playing old time American jazz i.e. Benny Goodman. Then we wound our way up the street to the Funicular and a ride to the top of the fortress where views of the city were spectacular!
Just goes to show how you have to have the right energy to really appreciate things. Other day we visited was deserted and grey and we were on wrong side of river. Glad we gave it another chance.
